Felt inspired by the back of the Chex cereal box to make an allergen-friendly puppy chow recipe. Or muddy buddies as others may call it. This recipe is top 8 allergen free and makes enough to share.
Ingredients:
3 cups of chocolate Chex cereal
1 tbsp Earth Balance soy-free butter
2 tbsp sunbutter
1/3 cup Enjoy Life semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup powdered sugar (can add more to taste)
Steps:
1. Measure our cereal and set aside in a sealable container (tupperware, ziploc, etc.)
2. In a sauce pan set to medium-low, combine butter, sunbutter, and chocolate chips. Stir often, careful not to burn the chocolate, until smooth.
3. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Pour mixture over cereal and seal the container. Shake until cereal is fully coated.
5. Gradually pour powdered sugar into the container, seal and shake again until fully coated.
6. Enjoy warm or let cool. Enjoy!
